Vacant Building Credit guidance note

Vacant Building Credit (VBC) was introduced to incentivise development on previously developed land. The existing floor space can be used proportionally off-set a potential affordable housing contribution.

This guidance note provides information from the relevant national guidance/frameworks available and outlines the Council’s approach to determining claims for VBC.

It should be noted that a Vacant Building Credit Statement, containing all the relevant information for the Council to determine a VBC claim, should be provided with the planning application.
