Regulations 5, 6 and 7 - Neighbourhood Area designation
Malpas Parish Council applied for a revised neighbourhood area for the purposes of producing a modified Neighbourhood Plan for the Malpas area. The neighbourhood area includes the civil parish of Malpas, excluding two small areas which are within the No Mans Heath and District neighbourhood area. The neighbourhood area was designated on 15 March 2023.

Malpas NP review process begins.
Regulation 20 - Made Plan
Cheshire West and Chester Council decided to make the Malpas and Overton Neighbourhood Plan under Section 38A(4) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 on 8 July 2015.
The Malpas and Overton Neighbourhood Plan now forms part of the Development Plan for Cheshire West and Chester and will be taken into account in local planning decisions. The Council has published a decision statement which sets out the decision to make the neighbourhood plan and the reasons for doing so.
Regulation 19 - Referendum
The Malpas and Overton NP referendum took place on 7 May 2015, with 91.6% of voters saying "yes" to the neighbourhood plan.
Regulations 17 and 18 - Examination
Cheshire West and Chester Council appointed Mr Terry Heselton, BA (Hons), Dip TP, MRTPI, as independent examiner of the Malpas and Overton Neighbourhood Plan. His report was published on 20 February 2015.
Regulation 15 and 16 - Publicity stage consultation and SEA + HRA screening determination
The Malpas and Overton NP regulation 16 consultation ran from 3 October to 17 November 2015.
