Regulations 5, 6 and 7 - Neighbourhood Area designation
Tarporley Parish Council applied for a revised neighbourhood area for the purpose of producing a modified Neighbourhood Plan for the Tarporley neighbourhood area. The neighbourhood area includes the civil parish of Tarporley, excluding three small areas which are within the Beeston, Tiverton and Tilstone Fearnall neighbourhood area.
Following a 12 week consultation period, the revised neighbourhood area was designated on 19 April 2024.

Tarporley NP review process begins.
Regulation 20 - Made Plan
Cheshire West and Chester Council decided to make the Tarporley Neighbourhood Plan under Section 38A(4) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 on 8 June 2016.
The Tarporley Neighbourhood Plan now forms part of the Development Plan for Cheshire West and Chester and will be taken into account in local planning decisions. The Council has published a decision statement which sets out the decision to make the neighbourhood plan and the reasons for doing so.
Regulation 19 - Referendum
The Tarporley NP referendum took place on 5 May 2016, with 96% of voters saying "yes" to the neighbourhood plan.
Regulations 17 and 18 - Examination
Cheshire West and Chester Council appointed Mr Nigel McGurk, BSc (Hons), MCD, MBA, MRTPI, as independent examiner of the Tarporley Neighbourhood Plan. His report was published on 9 February 2016.
Regulation 15 and 16 - Publicity stage consultation and SEA + HRA screening determination
The Tarporley NP regulation 16 consultation ran from 19 October to 30 November 2016.

Regulations 5, 6 and 7 - Neighbourhood Area designation
