Open Space Study

The Open Space Study provides an assessment of needs and deficiencies (in terms of quantity, quality and access) in open spaces in Cheshire West and Chester in order to establish local provision standards and determine the borough’s open space needs, to 2030.

The study is presented in two parts: Part One contains the main report which provides an overview of open space at a more strategic level (identifying local needs, audit of existing provision, setting and applying local standards, and policy/management recommendations), while Part Two provides open space area profiles containing more localised and detailed analysis, considering the future needs and priorities for each area. Part Two consists of 5 area profiles (Chester, Ellesmere Port, Northwich, Winsford and Rural area) and detailed service area supplements for each of the Key Service Centres identified in the Local Plan (Part One).
