Regulation 20 - Made Plan
Cheshire West and Chester Council decided to make the Northwich Neighbourhood Plan under Section 38A(4) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 on 4 July 2018.
The Northwich Neighbourhood Plan now forms part of the Development Plan for Cheshire West and Chester and will be taken into account in local planning decisions. The Council has published a decision statement which sets out the decision to make the neighbourhood plan and the reasons for doing so.

Regulation 19 - Referendum
The Northwich NP referendum took place on 21 June 2018, with 88.8% of voters saying "yes" to the neighbourhood plan.
Regulations 17 and 18 - Examination
Cheshire West and Chester Council appointed Mr Bob Yuille, MSc Dip TP MRTPI, as independent examiner of the Northwich Neighbourhood Plan. His report was published on 15 March 2018.
Mr Yuille wrote to the Council and the Qualifying Body (Northwich Town Council) during the examination with some questions. A copy of his letter and Cheshire West and Chester Council's response is provided below.

The Northwich NP regulation 16 consultation ran from 23 November 2017 and 12 January 2018.
Regulation 14 - Pre-submission consultation
The Northwich NP regulation 14 consultation took place between 14 October and 30 November 2015.
Regulations 5, 6 and 7 - Neighbourhood Area designation
Northwich Town Council submitted a neighbourhood area application to the Council and the neighbourhood area was designated on 6 June 2013.
