Self-build and custom housebuilding

The Self-build and Custom Housebuilding Act 2015 (as amended by the Housing and Planning Act 2016) came into force in March 2015, and requires the Council to keep a register of eligible individuals and groups who would like to build their own home (self-build). It also places a duty to grant sufficient planning permissions for serviced plots within the borough to meet the level of demand on the register.
