This page illustrates the level of potential supply for self-build and custom housebuilding, and advertises relevant planning application approvals and marketing materials for self-build plots.
The Housing Land Monitor and Local Plan monitoring information are used to identify planning permissions that are capable of delivering self-build housing. Based on National Planning Guidance and guidance provided by the Right to Build Taskforce, the permissions considered for inclusion are new build dwellings, replacement dwellings, and the conversion or change of use of agricultural buildings i.e. barn conversions. The information used to complete the table is reviewed annually, and the table is updated to take account of new information, for example data collected in relation to CIL exemptions.

Reserved matters planning permissions are only included in the figures where they would not double count permissions already included in a previous monitoring period.
