The NPPF identifies the main subjects that Local Plans are expected to deal with. These include the development strategy, housing, jobs, town centres, infrastructure, minerals and waste, design, transport, health, flood risk, the natural environment and the historic environment.
The Local Plan should not repeat national policy or try to set different requirements where national decision-making policies apply. However, it can include policies for local issues and priorities where there is clear evidence and justification.
